New Floors!!!

So the past few day's I have been getting new floors installed in my house. As most of you know, prior to installing a doggy door Angel ruined my carpet. I have cleaned and cleaned it but the yucky always came back. Damage done! I finally decided I had enough and started the search for new flooring. It was quite stressful trying to decide what to go with because EVERYONE I talked to had an opinion and everyone's opinion was different. So it came down to what I thought best! Then I had to decide which color was best. And when working with my fireplace that has a LOT of red in it I had to be real careful to not end up with something that brought out a whole lot of red. But then things got too golden! So I finally found one that was just brown. Not too red, not too gold!! Then of course I worried about it until it was in! Other decisions was who to install it...go with the company's installer or a contractor. A lot of the installers wanted to put quarter round around the baseboards instead of pulling them up. Me, being the picky person I am, didn't care for the quarter round. So finding someone that would pull up my baseboards was another task! But I found someone and they did an AWESOME job! If anyone is wanting to do any kind of floor installations let me know, I would recommend them in a heartbeat!! Anyway, it was fun to watch them install it all and see the progress! I ended up getting my living room, dining room, and hallway done! It all turned out great!! Here are the before and after pictures!

Carpet is up...prepping the floor!Living room floors down...still need to do the hallway and polishing off the floor.End of Day 2Baxter and Angel REALLY wanted to help so I had to keep them locked in the bedroom. But they still managed to keep an eye on what was going on!!2nd day they weren't as interested!!
All done!!! I wasn't really able to get a good picture of the color but it isn't as golden as the pictures make it look!!
Now I can put up my Christmas tree!! This year I decided since I had an extra tree I would make a western one to put in my back bedroom. I got a lot of the stuff in Fredericksburg and others from Holland Gardens and Kohls. So I was pretty anxious to get it up! I put it up the day after Halloween so it was already November! haha!! I was waiting on my floors to get done before I put up my pink tree. Maybe I will get to that this weekend! Anyway, here are a couple pictures of the Western tree. It is sooo cute!!
I had to include this because it was just too funny!! Evidently if you are around me long enough you turn into a computer nerd. Guess it happened to Bax too!!
Have a GREAT weekend everyone!! Happy Friday the 13th!!

Birthday Extravaganza

What a fun birthday month I have had so far!! Everyone has played along quite well and I have loved it!! Of course this year I had to share my birthday month with Zack's grandad (who turned 90) but that was ok! I guess I can share!! As I said in my last post I went up to College Station to see Zack for my birthday!! It was great! When I got there he gave me my first present! Oh yes, he had a present for me for the first 4 days of my birthday month (he is the GREATEST!!) I had to work the whole time I was there (classes had just started and w/needy students you can't just not help) but still had a blast!! Friday (my birthday) after Zack got off we loaded up and headed to Lubbock! It poured on us the whole way so it made the trip quite a bit longer...but we stopped in Abilene for my birthday supper and had Allsups burritos! Oh yeah!! haha!! We had actually had my birthday dinner the night before but I still thought the burritos was a great addition to my birthday! haha! Saturday some of the family came to town and we all went to Orlando's! It was soo yummy and great to see everyone!! I had a great birthday!

The next weekend was Zack's Grandad's 90th birthday party in Winters! It was great to get to see all of his family again and spend time with them! I got to play lots of domino's and play with the kids! I had a great time!!

Other than that there hasn't been much else going on. Kim, Kam, and I took the pool down on Saturday. It kinda made me a bit sad but it needed to be done before it got to cool because then I would never do it (like I did last year)! So I guess that meant that the summer for me was officially over! Of course the nice 60 degree weather today is a good indication of that too! Hope everyone has a great first day of fall!! Mom, (maybe dad), and I are headed to College Station for the weekend where we will spend the weekend w/Z and his parents!! I am so excited to have everyone together! Hopefully I will get some more cute pictures to share!!

Summer Fun

The past couple of weeks have been pretty quiet! Don't have much news but some really cute pictures! A couple of weeks ago I met Zack in Abilene for his niece Morgan's 2nd bday! It was a Tea Party...lots of fun! The kids were too cute!! Fun weekends always go too fast!!

Kam and Abbye playing at Red Lobster...aren't they adorable!!
This afternoon Kim, Kam, Brooke, Charlie, Amy, Abbye, and I went to the new leisure pool at Tech! It is an awesome facility equipped w/slide, diving board, and a lazy river! We spent most of our time in the lazy river but Charlie and I had to try out the diving board and the slide!!Blonde Moment Warning: After spending all afternoon at the pool...when I went to put my shoes on to leave I noticed this...

It was a fun fun day!! I wish we had have gone before the first weekend that students were back but oh well!! School started Thursday! I am taking 3 classes this semester but they seem like they are going to be fun classes! Next week I am starting my birthday month off right!! I'm flying out to College Station to see Zack then will ride with him here for my birthday and a long weekend! I am soooo excited!! I will have more pictures later!!

Nothing better than the Rodeo!

Ok so I know it has been FOREVER, but I had a legitimate excuse this time! The second summer session of grad school was my life...I felt like all I did was listen to Ed Psych lectures for 4 weeks! It was really quite frustrating, but we won't get into that!! It is over and I NEVER have to take that horrible class again! Thank goodness!! With the exception of school, I have had a fun 4 weeks! Zack came and spent several days w/me which was tons of fun!! I loved every minute of it!! Most of the fam was able to come and have a pool party while Z was here! I love hanging out w/the loved ones!!! The next weekend was more family fun! It was time again for the Annual Shopping and Swimming Extravaganza! We all headed to Dallas Thursday morning in time to make it to the Rangers game that evening! It was lots of fun!
Friday and Saturday was filled with lots of shopping and swimming! Zack didn't get to come until Saturday morning and unfortunately I missed out on photo-ops w/him! Sad! The next week was time for the 74th Annual Lea Country Fair & Rodeo! If you live in Lovington that is a HUGE time of year! Growing up that was like the last hoorah before going back to school. It was the place to see all your friends you hadn't seen all summer, and to ride lots of rides. Looking back I now know it is an EXPENSIVE time of year for parents! Anyway, this year Charlet was down from Oregon so Caran, Nanny, Charlet, Carol, Boston, Jude, Tyson, and Dash all decided to make a visit to the Land of Enchantment and the Fair & Rodeo. Brooke, Brian and I wanted to get to spend some time with them so we made the trek too! It was great to see them all!

Friday after work Kim, Kam, Baxter, Angel, and I headed back to Lovington for some more Fair & Rodeo.
Saturday Kambree came over for some "cowgirl" time. She just loves Stormy!

She would have rode all day if I would have let her, but we were all hot and needed to get ready for the evening. That evening we took Kam to ride some rides and the rodeo! We had such a good time!!

So...sorry this was soo long but I was way behind!! Hopefully the fall semester will not be so time consuming!! It just can't be...I can't miss out on my Birthday month festivities!!

God is GOOD!

Since my last post I have had some very fun and very scary occurrences! Last Friday I headed up to College Station to spend the weekend with Zack and to meet some family friends of theirs! On my way up there Dad called and asked me to bring him back some fresh fruit! So Saturday morning Zack and I headed to the Farm Patch to pick some fruit up for Pops!! As I was walking in me being the clutz that I am found the uneven part of the asphalt and twisted my ankle and fell. Most of you will think, "well whats new" but...this one was a doozie! My ankle was huge and my knee was even bigger! It hurt to walk, sit, lay, sleep, and drive. So I decided I would wait until Tuesday morning to leave to give it some time to heal and so I wouldn't be so miserable driving home. Well then someone put the thought in my head that if I wasn't going to leave until Tuesday why not just stay considering I was flying back to CS on Thursday! So I canceled my ticket and stayed the week!! It was soo much fun and really nice to get to spend that much time with Zack! He is wonderful and he took good care of my poor injured self! So...Friday we had planned on leaving early morning and heading to his parents house in Beeville. Zack had been dogsitting for them and also needed to take his Dad's motorcycle back to him. Well Zack woke up with a tummy ache so we didn't start to head out until about 10:30. Then...as we were getting gas I left they keys in his truck and Miss Angel locked us out! So Zack had to go back out to the house (which he had to break into) to get the spare key and come unlock the truck! Finally around 11, about 4 hours later than we had planned on leaving, we hit the road! Most of the way Zack stayed behind me and had his phone with him just in case but in Cuero we stopped for a break and he gave me his phone and decided to lead since I didn't know where I was going! Well about 5 miles outside of Cuero I see a truck coming at me head on. He wasn't passing anyone, he was just in my lane. So, I swerve as much as I can, but not enough. He hits the mirror and all down the side of the truck...and then drives off. I pull over and call the cops who proceed to catch him. He wasVERY drunk. Luckily I was paying attention and was able to swerve, luckily there was a good shoulder and I didn't flip the truck, but most of all luckily he hit me and not Zack on the motorcycle. Anyway poor Zack got to the next town before realizing I wasn't with him (the vibration of the mirrors don't give a clear picture of the vehicle behind you just kinda an idea) so he waited about 20 min thinking I had got pulled over (yeah nice that he assumed that huh! haha!). Finally after talking to some cops he found out I had been involved in an accident with a drunk driver but that I was OK! Poor guy! I think we finally made it to Beeville about 4 and we were just so thankful that we were all ok!! There were so many things that could have happened w/that situation but God was definitely looking out for us that day!! Saturday Zack took me down to Corpus to see the fireworks being shot off from the USS Lexington! It was EXTREMELY windy but it was so pretty!! And the Lexington was pretty awesome!! I was a little freaked out being on the road that night fearful of all the drunk drivers but we made it home safely!! It ended up being a great trip despite the mishaps along the way! I had a great time yet again with Zack's parents! Oh and I got my grades from my first semester and I got a 4.0!! Woohoo!! Here are some pictures from our trip to Corpus!
